4 Reasons why it's important to vote!!!
1) Voting is a first step of involvement and interaction with your government, the government of the people, by the people and for the people. It is the simple act of voting that itself is very important. If nobody voted, your government would not be a democracy; it would take a different form (monarchy, oligarchy, etc...) where there is also a different form of election.
2) If you do not vote, people will not take you seriously and you'll have no credibility when you complain how things are so bad. So then, voting also shows you support your right to vote, and it is another reason why it is important to vote: Your vote is your voice in government.
3) Voting shows that you are part of a larger movement, a group of people. So even if you do not agree with everything your elected officials are doing, you can vote and show support for those organizations that you believe in that endorsed the candidate you voted for.
4) And finally, voting is an important part of your independence. If you do not vote, someone else will make decisions for you and you'll have no voice against them. By voting for someone you believe in, if they do not live up to your expectations, you can choose not to vote for them in the next election, or, even impeach them before the next election. Although voting is one of the first steps in your involvement in your government, it is by no means the last. After 1. voting, and 2. showing support for your right to vote, and 3. becoming involved with your government, you can, 4. help create the government that you want, that most benefits you and your world. You can enjoy the fruits of your labor...
And those are 4 reasons why it is important to vote, and it all starts with the simple act of voting, although there are a lot of steps that have led to our rights to vote in the first place, and, there are also probably more than 4 reasons why it is important to vote.
So, just to recap: voting is important because:
1. It shows your involvement.
2. It is your right and your responsibility.
3. It allows you to become more involved.
4. It shows that you are independent and can agree or disagree with your government and that you can create a government that works for you!
